my new favorite show: sense8

I happened upon this show today on Netflix called sense8.  Since then I have been tearing through the episodes ( I am up to episode 5 ~ so if you haven't watched past that, don't read this blog! SPOILER ALERT! )  and also afraid to watch more for fear of having no more episodes to watch.

I must say these are one of the shows that really makes me feel and I adore almost every character on the show except for Sun's brother & father. There were points that I shed tears for my human brothers and sisters watching them go through their strife.  My favorite character at this time I would have to say is Will.  His moral compass pointing north really makes me favor him.  He reminds me of Superman & Captain America, other favorites of mine...

The scene with Capheus kicking those thugs' ass was great!  I felt like I was watching a Van Damme movie!  Capheus's love for his mother is so great it fills my heart with much joy as well as Nomi's relationship with her girlfriend.  I was so glad when she was able to escape the hospital.  I couldn't stand when her mother kept calling her Michael! (Damn it! Get a clue woman!)

My fear at this time is will Sun go to jail to pay for her stupid brother's crime?!  Oh man, I guess I need to proceed to the next episode...

my new obsession...John Fluevog shoes

I've always loved shoes... and bags... but that's not gonna be in this blog, bags that is.
My Fluevog love has been reawaken this year since I first stumbled upon them in 2005.  This month alone I've purchased 3 Fluevogs - I swear it's an addiction. I can't help myself, it's the quality and most importantly the feel of the shoes.  I'm not good in heels, any kind of heel but with Fluevog's I am walking on air.  The leather feels supple and encourages me to 'creative up' my wardrobe to showoff my shoes.

Immortal Perfection - Audrey
My first pair Immortal Perfection - Audrey in Gray - great for the summer since they have vents (hole cut outs in the leather) in them.  Looks great paired with shorts and skirts.  I can't wait to wear them with some skinny jeans in the Fall.  These have a 2.25" heel and I can walk just fine in them - which is a total surprise since I'm so clumsy in heels. Only thing that I feel I need to do is to take them to the cobbler and have some rubber added to the sole so that it feels that it's not so 'slippy' since the sole is wooden.  Hopefully, this will also prolong the life of the shoe as well.  Only problem is that will cover the messages on the soles, this one says "inner beauty never fades".  Loves these lil' messages. So cute and inspiring.

2nd Pair is Expectations - Trust in Red - these are also great for summer time wearin' due to the vents in them.  You can wear them with socks or no socks.  So comfy. Pairs well with shorts and capris.  I'm gonna wear them with a dress this weekend! This also has a wooden sole so I may bring this to a cobbler as well.  The message on this shoe is "exceeds expectations".

Expectations - Trust
I've purchased these two pairs in the NYC store on Mulberry.  I used to work around the neighborhood and it was nice going back to my old stomping grounds.  I should get a job there so that I can get an employee discount  ^-^

My 3rd pair came in the mail from Denver, CO.  The Rules Low - Patti in black, it included stickers, a postcard, a newsletter, a plastic shoehorn and a lil' note which was so nice.  I love getting things in the mail where they take the time to send you a little thank you note. Thanks Denver store! You guys are sweet!  I tried them on last night without socks and they felt so good.  I'll be rockin' these bad boys in the Fall! The soles on these are rubber, so no message. The heels on these are 2.5".

The Rules Low - Patti
I need to stay away from their website.  These shoes are getting me in trouble... I want to visit each city that has a Fluevog store so that I can purchase a Fluevog from each one.
Did I mention they also sell bags...

My visit to Miami, FL

Going to Miami in the beginning of April is probably one of the best times. The sun is strong, the breeze is gentle.  The water is still cold but you warm up in that hot sun! This is the 2nd time that I've been sunburned, the 1st was in Puerto Rico AND I used sunblock. But I have no regrets, being on that beach was so relaxing and beautiful. The water is clear! I can see my feet! ohhhh, just splendid!

I stayed at Avalon Hotel, 700 Ocean Drive. Room was a bit tight for me and was surprised to see that it was a bit on the old side.  No vent in the bathroom, every time I took a shower it was a personal sauna in there.  Walls are paper thin, you can hear everything. Sometimes staff was courteous, sometimes not.  I wanted to eat at their restaurant: A fish called Avalon, but decided why give them more of my money.  Convenience to the beach was undeniable, they were literally right across the beach.

Walking through Lincoln Road Mall - shopping haven. I wish I had more money to spend. They had such nice shops.  But I was good. My money went only to food.  Some good food spots are:

il bolognese - Italian, they have some yum pizza there
Sushi Siam - Thai Japanese fusion, try their whole snapper - delish!

Another really good spot to eat is Hiro's Sushi Express on Washington Ave. OMG. Fresh fish at reasonable prices.  A must go. Love, love, love.

Miami's Botanical Garden is charming, a bit on the small side, but a good place to spend 20 minutes of your day if you love flowers.  They also have benches if you want to sit and relax. Butterflies flutter around here too!

A visit to the Holocaust Memorial on Meridian Ave left me feeling haunted and sad.  I studied this history when I was in school.  Seeing the sculpture, the images and hearing the music just left such a hole in my heart that it still haunts me as I am typing out this review.

A visit to the Marina was really nice.  Quiet and serene, you can rent a bike and travel through here as well.  You can picnic here. Lots of tables and chairs for your use!
where is the Slice of Life?

I was looking for the Slice of Life, but wasn't sure where Dexter docked his boat...

Beautiful Pelican

Overall, Miami is a beautiful place to visit. Especially, if you are young and love to party.  The nightlife on Ocean Drive is something else.  Great place to drink and eat.

New editions to my Stitch collection

In my every continuous efforts to enlarge my Stitch collection, I've been doing some online shopping recently.

I love opening things from the mail.  It reminds me of days of young when I went to elementary school and my book order would come in and I would go home with new stickers and some 50 cent book that I would hold on to dearly.  It also reminds me of Christmas and I can open my 'gift' as soon as I bring it into the house.

I won the bid on the Stitch alien bag from eBay.  I think I will use this bag when I go to Disney World this fall.  I was really surprised to find this bag, because I've never seen anything like it. It is super cute and fluffy!  Does anyone know when this bag came out? I've never seen it anywhere before!

Stitch Alien Plush back pack

And he has 6 limbs and his alien antennas! ha ha so cute!

I purchased this Stitch devil trick or treating bucket.  I'm not sure when I will get a chance to use this.  Maybe when I dress up for Halloween and go trick or treating in Magic Kingdom.  I'm not sure.  Right now I just have it on my dresser.  His fangs glow in the dark! Spooky! :P

Last, but not least I ordered through a japanese website that sells gadgets.  I just couldn't resist.  Stitch looked too cute dressed as an alien from Toy Story.  He also works as speakers for your iPhone or iPod which is pretty cool.  I haven't fully tested how loud it can get but for me it was an added bonus anyway!
Isn't he just adorable?

My trip to Disneyland, CA

My AWESOME hubby took me to LA this year for my birthday. We were in LA for about 6 days. So of course I would pick to visit Disneyland on the day of :)  I love Disney so I was super excited to go! I was also hoping to score some Stitch stuff!

We decided to hit up my favorite ride first...HAUNTED MANSION!
I love the fact that this layout is different from the Haunted Mansion in Disney World.  I can actually see the WHOLE mansion right up front! I want to see it when it's all decked out for Halloween...

Haunted Mansion...

Another ride that Disney World doesn't have is the Storybook ride, I think this ride is awesome. It's so whimsical.  I love how everything is miniature!

Entering through the whale's mouth...heeelp!

Agrabah

Genie lamp

Cinderella's castle

Prince Eric's ship

Disneyland Hotel Mansion Pins

It was a great time, although the park was quite crowded so we had to use our fast passes a lot. The only thing I saw of Stitch that I don't have is the Stitch pillow buddy plush.  I didn't get that though 'cuz it's kinda big and wasn't sure it would fit in my luggage.

I did score some Haunted Mansion stuff.  I got some cool pins that are exclusive to Disneyland and a cool Haunted Mansion letter box.

Haunted Mansion Letterbox

The letter box we had to get shipped cuz that is just way too big to fit into the luggage. It looks really awesome in person.  I was really deciding on this box for a long time because it was kinda pricy and the shipping wasn't cheap either. Every time we went into a store I was looking at it and deciding in my head if I should or shouldn't.  My awesome hubby got this for me as another birthday gift!  He saw how much I wanted it and said "lets get it shipped".  Hooooray!

Sleeping Beauty Castle
The fireworks at Disneyland were incredible!  Tinkerbell was flying above the castle along with Dumbo!  I was awe-struck! It truly was magical! I wish I took a photo of it!

We also went to the Californian Adventure. That was a cute lil' park too! I love the Monsters Inc ride! It was so cute!  We rode on the Ferris Wheel and I was nervous 'cuz I'm afraid of heights.  Funny enough the couple that was sharing the booth with us, the husband was afraid of too much motion.  I tried not to look down to much but I did.  I tried to master my fear, but I felt my feet and hands start to sweat :(

Monsters Inc

Beeker from the Muppets

California Adventure

We watched World of Color, that was very pretty and the music was great.  I saw this guy with a Stitch plush backpack.  I wanted to grab it and run! lol I love Stitch!

Overall, it as a great trip.  I had the most awesome Korean BBQ in K-town and we also went to Napa Rose for dinner.  The scallops are to die for.  I just wish it didn't go by so fast. Hopefully next time we go we can stay on Disney property.  The hotels looked beautiful.

Btw, traffic in LA is horrible. LOL.

My visit to Japan La

So I finally got a chance to visit my favorite online shop, Japan La this May when I went to Cali.
I've been shopping with them since 2008. They are my one stop shop for tokidoki items back in the day.  So it was cool that I actually was able to step foot into this shop.

It is so a cute little shop! Mandie was the sales girl there that day and she is super sweet and kawaii!
She allowed me to take some photos which was so cool of her.

cell phone covers, keychains, iPad covers and awesome t-shirts

Stationery, stickers and miniature foods from Rement.

A nice lil' art gallery

My Little Pony!

Hello Kitty
Japan La has a great selection of Relax Bear (Rilakkuma) stuff which I love. They have a huge variety of Sanrio and San-X type of goodies that I adore. They have a great selection of gift items, awesome t-shirts, stationery, and they even have a little art gallery section which is very cool.  I picked up a moustache necklace for my sister and I got myself some Rilakkuma stuff. My one regret is that I didn't purchase a Chocolate Rilakkuma! Darn it!

Rilakkuma! I love him! I should have bought the chocolate one...

My Stitch Collection

Ever since Lilo and Stitch came out back in 2002 I've been in love with the movie.
I knew it was my favorite movie when Lilo punched and bite that girl in her dance class!
I've been on a quest ever since to collect Lilo and Stitch items.

I've noticed that in the States Lilo and Stitch items are rare to come by.  Lilo items are even rarer.
Stitch seems to be more popular in Hong Kong and Japan.  I wonder why that is.

Here are a few things from my collection.

Does anyone else have an insane love of Stitch like I do? LOL.

I can't wait to visit Disney World this Fall to add to my collection.

A treasure box where you can keep little trinkets. I won this on eBay.

Stitch & Angel Snow Globe. I bought this in Disneyland, Hong Kong.

Another treasure box.  You can see a cut-out on top of the jack o' lantern. I also won this on eBay.

Little toys, purchased in Disneyland, Hong Kong.

Stitch bread for decoration for your bag or cell phone. It's super cute and squishy! It's not for eating!

Stitch Halloween cookie, decoration for your bag or cell phone. It's not for eating!
